Since 2014, the Brazilian Psychiatric Association – ABP, in partnership with the Federal Council of Medicine – CFM, has organized Yellow September® throughout the country. The 10th of this month is officially World Suicide Prevention Day, but the initiative takes place throughout the year. Currently, Yellow September® is the biggest anti-stigma campaign in the world! This year, the motto is “Life is the best choice!” and several actions are already being developed.
We must all actively act to raise awareness of the importance of life and help prevent suicide, a topic that is still seen as taboo. It is important to talk about the subject so that people who are going through difficult times and crises seek help and understand that life will always be the best choice.
