Planning + Information: what to analyze when implementing a new CI channel?
Much more than sending a Newsletter. Implementing a new CI channel can bring numerous benefits to your organization. And the main beneficiaries? The company itself, the employees and the CI team.
In times when everything changes quickly and the “new normal” is established, it is essential to rethink strategies and tools used by CI, an area that became even more strategic throughout the pandemic. This is what the 5th Edition of the Tendências survey points out, carried out in partnership by the Ação Integrada and SocialBase teams, aiming to provide an overview of Internal communication in Brazil for the year 2021. The survey interviewed around 175 companies of various sizes and segments, across throughout October and November 2019 and brings interesting data:
87% of those interviewed felt an increase or maintenance in the volume of Jobs.
72% noticed that the area became more sought after and involved in the company's decision-making.
78% believes that the area has now occupied a strategic space in its organization.
The numbers don't lie: in 2020 the CI teams worked hard! And in this context of innovation, in which it is essential to attack new fronts and leverage the reach of its tools, there is a need to implement new CI channels:
Along with these new features, we experience the results. Remember we started talking about the benefits? Yes, the implementation of more dynamic and interactive CI channels generates significant results, such as: improvement of employer branding, employee experience and employee voice, strengthening cultural fit, improving communication between the company's hierarchical levels, reducing turnover and growth in engagement and productivity rates.
Okay, but how do you know which channel is right for your organization? What to analyze before starting implementation?
Planning
This step is essential, before making any decision. It is in this step that you will identify communication impasses and how they can be adjusted. As the old saying goes, many heads are better than one, it's time for brainstorming with the communications team to define which channels are aligned with the communications plan and how they can contribute to achieving the goals and objectives already listed. List the advantages and disadvantages of each. Don't forget to establish the allocated budget, after all, no one likes to go over budget.
Employee profile
Quantity is not synonymous with quality. It may be that after evaluating the budget, you realize that it will not be possible to have everything you dreamed of at that moment. But don't worry, it might not even be necessary. One tip is: Pay attention to your employees! Their behavior will speak to what will bring success. Focus on the needs, on the conversations in the corridors, this perception will reveal which shot will be more accurate.
